Today, Nintendo released its second quarter financial briefing. While initial reports did not include any sales data regarding the Kirby series, new information has finally surfaced that gives investors and fans a bit of insight into how the pink puff's latest adventures have been performing.
According to Nintendo's new report, Kirby and the Forgotten Land is close to selling an impressive seven million units worldwide.
As can be seen below, on page 48 of Nintendo's briefing, there is a graphic discussing how some game series beloved in Japan are gaining worldwide popularity. The chart on the right side of the graphic informs readers how Kirby and the Forgotten Land on Nintendo Switch has sold worldwide compared to Kirby's Return to Dream Land on Nintendo Wii.
When added up, the total number of copies Kirby and the Forgotten Land has sold across all regions is 6.96 million units. Previously, Nintendo's last financial report stated that the Forgotten Land had sold 6.46 million units—making this a half-million increase.
Nintendo's latest financial report did not detail sales numbers regarding Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe. According to Nintendo's previous report, the game had sold 1.46 million units. When more Kirby sales data is released by Nintendo, we will continue to keep you all updated.
